Be Safe While On The Job
We wake up to our alarms every day and head off to work, expecting to return home at the end of the day. We want each and every one of you to return home safe to your loved ones, which is why we came up with a list of some of the most important things to do each day while at work. It doesn’t matter if you are on a construction site working in a warehouse or even in a office environment. It is important to keep all of these sample acts in mind and practice them on a daily basis. Being aware of your surroundings can make a huge difference in how safe you are that day.
Have you ever been walking and talking on the phone, not keeping your eyes on the road while driving? We’re just being distracted by your own thoughts. Always keep your eyes open and focus on your surroundings.
A few things to keep in mind that you may be distracted from could be listening for backup alarms, paying attention to trip hazards and poor housekeeping, watching out for other drives on the road and also keeping an eye out of your coworkers. Another simple rule that we can follow is to always wear the proper personal protective equipment or PPE while on the job and even at home unnecessary. Hard hats are designed to protect you from falling objects and overhead hazards. Safety glasses should be worn a second nature when working around any product or material that has the potential to get into our eyes. Finally wearing the proper foot protection while on the job can easily save you from serious foot injuries or slips, trips and falls. Another great way to prevent incidents from occurring altogether is to implement an open-door policy. We’re all near misses, unsafe acts and conditions and incidents are reported. If you are an employer, you should make your employees feel comfortable reporting these things. It is important to make sure that all incidents are reported to your employer as soon as possible because there are some incidents that needs to be reported to OSHA.
